Liverpool's Star Issues Regret to Squad, Says Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has revealed that Salah said sorry to the entire Liverpool squad in the wake of the uproar from his recent interview.
The Incident
He was omitted from a vital match following criticising the club and stating his relationship with manager had soured.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, please accept my apology.’”
The head coach has previously declined to reveal on whether he got an explanation from the veteran striker.
Looking Ahead
The player stated that the dressing room atmosphere was unchanged. “He was the exact same Mo, he had a big smile on his face and we all treated him normally,” the midfielder explained.
The midfielder also noted that a teammate fighting for a place is preferable. “I understand there are different methods you can handle situations,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just be on the bench, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
Team Form
Liverpool's form have been impressive in the games following the situation. The player is convinced the outburst were not intended to cause disruption.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it’s always been from a desire to win,” Jones concluded. “It's behind us and we’re gelling well as a team, playing well and starting to win games.”
