Jet Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Touch Down in UK Because of Crack in Windshield
A jet transporting Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was required to make an emergency landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday due to a fissure was discovered in the jet's front window, according to an official announcement which confirmed that the secretary was unharmed.
"The aircraft touched down in accordance with standard protocol and all passengers, such as Defense Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a press officer stated in a social media post.
He was traveling back from a short visit to Brussels during the flight.
This incident is not the first time that a US military aircraft ferrying a high-ranking official has suffered equipment failures.
Months ago, a American military jet transporting Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was compelled to turn back to the US capital after suffering a technical issue.
